Enjoying our “Vasilopita” and learning about Greek culture and traditions.

On the 29th January the K-5th graders and on 5th February the 6th-9th graders enjoyed their `”Vasilopita” . This is the cake that is traditionally cut by Greek families on New Year’s Day. It honors St. Vasili (St. Basil) and there is a coin hidden inside it. Tradition says whoever gets the piece of cake with the coin, will have good luck for the whole year. The lucky winner for K-5th was Peter and for 6th-9th Damir.
